The
Westernport Library opened on Main
Street in Westernport on February
22, 1970. The library replaced a previous 1925 building in Westernport
when the community outgrew the one-room facility. In 2008, the building was
renovated with an addition of an enchanted forest theme. Local
artists are showcased in the interior design featuring a mobile, quilts,
and mosaic tiles.
The library,
located next to the Post Office, has many resources and services to offer
patrons, including books for adults, teens, and children, magazines, audio books,
video games, DVDs, music and Interlibrary Loan services, and weekly children's
programs. In addition, the library offers public computers and
free wi-fi.
There is a meeting room in the library for groups and
organizations to use. Please contact a librarian for more information or
to make a room reservation.
