The Frostburg Book Club will discuss Father Melancholy’s Daughter by Gail Godwin on Thursday, August 19 starting at 2PM at the Frostburg Branch of the Allegany County Library System.
Everyone’s invited to this discussion of this New York Times’ Bestseller. It’s the poignant, bittersweet story of a father and his daughter. The father is Father Melancholy, an Episcopalian minister, abandoned by his wife when his daughter was just 6 years old. Copies of the book are available at your local library.

Jeff Ruark will be bringing the popular “Scales and Tales” program to the South Cumberland Branch of the Allegany County Library System on Wednesday, August 25 from 2-3 PM.
“We call Ruark a storyteller extraordinaire here at the library because he just captures the imaginations of the audience with his stories, from the youngest kids to the elderly,” commented Linda Burkey, Community Outreach Coordinator for the Library System. “We can’t wait to see what animals will be accompanying Ruark; will there be snakes this time?
