The Book Discussion Group at the South Cumberland Branch of the Allegany
County Library System will meet Thursday, December 30 at 7 PM to discuss
Winter Solstice by Rosamunde Pilcher.
Take a break from your holiday havoc at home, and travel with us to
Scotland for some true holiday spirit and companionship. Pilcher’s novel
will introduce you to a cast of wonderfully dynamic characters thrown
together on the shortest day of the year. You might return home with at
better understanding of what magical possibilities exist for your own
real group of family and friends.
The Book Discussion Group normally meets the 4th Thursday of
each month, but the meeting date has been changed due to Christmas.
Discussions start at 7PM and last for one hour. Everyone’s invited!
Copies of the book are available at your local library.

The Frostburg Book Club will meet at the
Frostburg Community Library on Thursday, January 20 at 2 PM to discuss
Angels and Demons by Dan Brown.
Brown is best known for his book The
DaVinci Code, but in Angels and Demons he also has shown his
skill as a master of believable suspense. His character
Robert Langdon, known throughout the world for his ability to decipher
symbols, stumbles onto the secret organization, Illuminati. “Wait a
minute; what’s fact and what’s fiction in this book?"
Come experience the fun of broadening
your horizons, making friends, enjoying a social time, and taking your
reading to a whole new level as only participating in a book group can
do.
The club meets the third Thursday of the
month at the Frostburg Community Library at 2 PM. New members are
welcome to join in on any of the discussions. Copies of the books being
discussed are available at your local library.
